Center your breathing and prepare yourself for a Feeling Experience.
Immerse yourself in the perception of the object. As each aspect of the image assembles itself (affect is effect), identify the feeling you experience and describe it. Also, describe any images that attend your feeling experience.
Once you sense you have had a complete "Almost Story" experience (see Almost Story Testimonials for examples), try to decipher its personal meaning for you.
Remember that you are experiencing your own feeling psychology, not the object itself.
Feel free to post your Almost Story experience on the Feeling Forum, along with any questions or comments you have. Often you find that someone will respond to you and dialog will extend itself into the site.
Return to the same painting or sculpture again, in order to deepen your experience of the image assembly. With each experience you have, your psychology reveals more of itself; and you will be rewarded by your efforts at interpreting the personal meaning of the imagery and feeling. Use this Worksheet to write down your reflections over time so that it can serve as a diary for each object you select.
